my MISSION: teach every child how to truly perform - with expression, confidence and joy
My name is Lena Afanaseva and I am a piano teacher. Born and educated in Ukraine, I was trained in the Russian classical piano tradition. My teaching is rooted in this rigorous and expressive approach, helping students to develop strong technique, musical understanding and stage confidence. I hold Masters degree in piano pedagogy and have over 35 years of teaching experience. In my Studio, I create a warm and encouraging environment where each child receives individual attention. My students perform in a variety of recitals, concerts and festivals locally and regionally and receive excellent evaluations in judged competitions.

About the Classes
Piano curriculum is offered for beginners, intermediate and advanced levels, for both children and adults
Classical as well as modern repertoire is offered along with musical theory
Lessons lengths 30, 45 or 60 minutes
At least 2 studio recitals per year and participation in local music festivals and performances
Tuition is paid on a monthly basis
There are NO long-term contractual obligations: Classes can be discontinued at 2-week advanced notice
One-on-one classes allow for productive learning environment
What is needed for the start: A piano or a full-size keyboard for practice at home, and a spiral notebook for assignments
