Lena's Piano Studio is located in Lansdowne, Virginia, and serves the Lansdowne, Reston, Sterling, Ashburn, Leesburg, Brambelton, and Purcellville areas. Private piano lessons are available for beginning, intermediate and advanced students age 6 to adult. Professional instruction is provided by Lena Afanaseva, a classically trained pianist with MA degree in Piano Pedagogy and over 25 years of teaching experience

About the Classes 

  • Piano curriculum is offered for beginners, intermediate and advanced levels, for both children and adults

  • Classical as well as modern repertoire is offered along with musical theory

  • Lessons lengths 45 or 60 minutes

  • At least 3 studio recitals per year

  • Tuition is paid on a monthly basis

  • There are NO long-term contractual obligations: Classes can be discontinued at 2-week advanced notice

  • One-on-one classes allow for productive learning environment

  • What is needed for the start: A piano or a full-size keyboard for practice at home,  a spiral notebook for assignments, and a positive attitude for success!

How to Enroll

During an evaluation and assessment consultation, a beginning piano student will be introduced to piano lessons. A transfer student will be evaluated on his/her playing, sight reading, and rhythmic skills. The parent and the teacher will discuss studio program, goals, curriculum, and policies. The fee for the introductory session is $25. If the student successfully passes an interview and signs up for the program, the fee is included in first month’s tuition payment.
